The first line decides the whole floor. That gets marked and agreed before any adhesive goes down.

We run a straight edge over it with you before the grout goes in.

A loose tile is worth looking at quickly, because the next one always goes the same way and water gets under the rest.

FAQs
Tiling & Flooring questions, answered
How much extra tile should I buy?
Add 10% for straight-lay patterns and 15% for diagonal or herringbone layouts, to cover cuts and breakages. Buy it all in one batch — shade varies noticeably between production runs.
Can you tile over the existing floor?
Sometimes, if the existing floor is sound, level and well bonded. It saves removal cost but raises the floor height, which affects doors and thresholds. We check and tell you honestly whether it is a good idea in your case.
How long before we can walk on a new tile floor?
Light foot traffic after 24 hours, normal use and furniture after 72 hours. Rushing it is the most common cause of hollow-sounding tiles later.
Do you do bathroom tiling with waterproofing?
Yes, and we strongly recommend the membrane in wet areas. It is quoted as a separate waterproofing line so you can see exactly what it costs.
Can you fix just a few cracked tiles?
Yes, if you have spares or we can source a close match. Be aware that a replacement rarely matches perfectly on an older floor - shade drifts between batches - so we will show you the match before fitting it.
Should the grout match the tile or contrast with it?
Matching hides the grid and makes a small room look bigger; contrasting shows off the pattern but shows every imperfect joint too. On floors, go one shade darker than the tile - pure white grout on a floor will not stay white in Islamabad.
Do I need to empty the room first?
Yes for flooring, and it saves you money - we can move furniture but that is time on the bill. Skirting and beading come off with the floor, so expect touch-up paint afterwards.
