A hairline crack in plaster can wait. One you can fit a coin into, or one running diagonally from the corner of a door, is movement - and it is worth a look before the next monsoon opens it further.

FAQs
Masonry questions, answered
How do you price masonry work?
After a free survey. Block and plaster work is quoted per square foot once we have measured the actual wall, and anything structural is quoted per job because the price depends on what is behind the plaster. You get the figure in writing before anyone starts.
Can you work with my own material?
Yes, and many customers do. We will give you a written list of what to buy - block count, sand, cement, steel - and quote labour only. If we supply it, the material is charged at cost and shown separately on the quote.
Is a crack in my wall serious?
It depends on its direction and whether it is growing. A fine vertical crack in plaster is usually cosmetic. A diagonal crack from the corner of a door or window, or one you can fit a coin into, is movement and needs looking at properly. Send a photo with something for scale beside it.
How long does plaster take to dry before painting?
In Islamabad summer, around a week for a normal coat; in winter, closer to two. Painting over plaster that is still green is the most common reason paint blisters a few months later, so we will tell you honestly when it is ready.
Do you build boundary walls with a foundation?
Always. A boundary wall without a proper footing leans within a couple of seasons, especially on filled ground. The footing depth comes out of the survey and is shown as its own line on the quote.
Do you do tile work as well?
Masonry is its own page and its own crew - floor, wall, marble and regrouting are all covered there. If a job needs both, we quote the masonry and the masonry together so there is one price and one team.
Will you clear the rubble?
Yes, removal is included in the quote unless you ask us to leave it. We sweep the work area at the end of every day, not only at the end of the job.
